Everything an editor needs to write about Luriax, in one place. Text on this page may be quoted directly. Images may be used editorially under the terms below. If something is missing, ask and it will be added here rather than sent to one person.

Who we are

Luriax makes handcrafted accessories for Apple devices from Alcantara, the Italian technical microfiber engineered for Ferrari and Lamborghini interiors. The line covers iPhone cases, AirPods cases, MagSafe wallets and Apple Watch bands, designed in Los Angeles and individually handcrafted, each one laser engraved at no cost if the owner wants it personal. The company was founded by Pejman Zare and sells direct at luriax.com.

The material story

These two paragraphs are written to be quoted. Use them whole, in part, with or without attribution to Luriax.

Real suede has never survived a phone. It comes from the middle layer of a hide, sanded until the fibers stand up, which is exactly what makes it feel the way it does and exactly what makes it fail. There is no grain layer left to protect it, so it drinks whatever it touches: the oils that come off a hand a hundred times a day, a splash of water that dries into a ring, a friction point at the corner where the nap goes flat and shiny. A phone is the single most-handled object a person owns. Suede is the wrong material for it, and no amount of care changes that.

Alcantara is what happens when the feel is engineered instead of harvested. It is a nonwoven microfiber, 68 percent polyester and 32 percent polyurethane, made by one company at one site in Italy using a spinning process that produces fibers finer than silk. The hand is suede. The behavior is not: it resists stains, it resists water, it takes abrasion without going bald at the corners, and it cleans with a damp cloth. Ferrari and Lamborghini did not choose it to be interesting. They chose it because it holds a steering wheel and a seat bolster for years, in the sun, under hands. That is a harder job than a phone case, and it is why the phone case works.

Accuracy note for editors: Alcantara is not suede and Luriax never describes it as suede. The correct framing is that it has the hand of suede without suede's fragility. Alcantara is a registered trademark of Alcantara S.p.A. A full, sourced reference on the material is at luriax.com/pages/alcantara.

Product facts

Lines

The Signature. The handcrafted flagship. The most material, the most hand work, the piece the brand is judged on.

The Modern. The everyday case. Slimmer profile, same Alcantara, same engraving.

The Sport. The protective build, for people who want more structure around the phone.

Beyond iPhone cases, the catalog covers AirPods cases, MagSafe wallets, a bifold cardholder with RFID-blocking aluminum, and Apple Watch bands in both pin and magnetic closures.

Models

The current generation is the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. There is no base iPhone 18 case, because there is no base iPhone 18 this fall. Apple's base model moves to spring 2027. Please write "iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max" rather than "iPhone 18." Earlier generations remain available on the site.

Colors and prices, iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

Line Colors Price
The Signature Black Caviar, Midnight Blue, British Racing Green, Malibu Beige $119
The Signature, Limited Edition Rosewood, Baby Blue $139
The Modern Black Caviar, British Racing Green, Midnight Blue, Bordeaux $69
The Sport Black Caviar, British Racing Green, Midnight Blue, Mocha $84

Six colors across the Signature line. The two Limited Editions, Rosewood and Baby Blue, are runs of forty pieces each. That is a fact about the run size, not a countdown. When they are gone the page says so.

What MagSafe compatibility means here

The magnet array is built into the case, in the ring position Apple specifies. MagSafe chargers, wallets, car mounts and stands attach through the case and hold at full strength. The case does not come off to charge. This is a designed magnet array, not a case that happens to be thin enough for a charger to reach through.

Engraving

Complimentary on every piece, no exceptions and no upcharge. Initials, a name, a date, or a short custom mark, laser engraved into the Alcantara itself rather than printed or stamped onto it. Customers see a preview before anything is made.

Review data

More than 500 verified reviews across our own store and marketplaces, averaging 4.79. Verified means the review is tied to a real order. On the flagship product alone, our Judge.me record shows 4.8 across 269 reviews.

The most-repeated theme in them is tactile rather than technical: people describe picking the phone up more often than they need to. If you want specific quotes with the reviewer's first name and product, ask and they will be sent with the order verified.

Founder

Pejman Zare, Founder.

Pejman started Luriax in Los Angeles after looking for a phone case that matched the rest of what he owned and finding that the material he wanted, suede, could not survive the job. The search led to Alcantara, and to a small operation building one piece at a time rather than a factory line. He runs the company directly: product, material sourcing, and the standard every piece is held to. He is based in Los Angeles.

Founder interviews are available, on the record, by email, phone or video, usually within 48 hours of a request. Topics he can speak to in detail: why suede fails on a phone and what Alcantara does differently, how a case is actually built, and running a small hardware brand without outside capital.

Usage rights

Luriax grants editorial use of these images, free of charge and without a separate agreement, for the purpose of reporting on or reviewing Luriax products. You may crop, resize and color-correct for layout. Please credit Luriax in the caption or credit line where your publication's format allows it.

Not covered by this grant: use in advertising, on merchandise, or in any context that implies Luriax endorses a third-party product or service. For anything outside editorial use, ask first. Photography of Luriax products that you shoot yourself is yours, with no restriction from us.

Sample timing

Stated plainly so nobody is waiting on an email.

Material swatches: available now. A piece of the actual Alcantara, laser engraved, in a flat envelope. It ships within two business days, anywhere in the world. It is not a product and is not intended to be reviewed. It exists because the material is the story and no photograph carries it.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max cases: units ship the week of September 21, 2026. No case leaves here until one has been physically fitted to a retail iPhone 18 Pro on release day, September 18. That is the reason for the date, and it is the only reason.

If you are writing for a November guide, request by September 25 to have a unit in hand by October 3.

Who gets one: any editor, writer or producer working on a piece where it is relevant. Say which line, model and color you want and whether you want it engraved. There is no coverage requirement, no embargo, and nothing to return. If it does not earn a place in your piece, keep it or pass it on.

One thing we will not do: send a previous-generation case for a current-generation story. If you are writing about the iPhone 18 Pro, you will get an iPhone 18 Pro case or nothing. Earlier-generation units are available for pieces that are actually about earlier generations.

For commerce editors

Luriax runs an affiliate program for publishers, at 15 percent commission on attributed sales, with deep linking enabled to any page on the store. If your publication monetizes through an affiliate network, ask and you will be sent the network details and a direct contact so your team can get set up without going through a general signup queue.

We will not ask for a link placement in exchange, and there is no paid-placement option. If a piece includes us, that is an editorial decision.

Two that matter most, and why.

Alcantara, not suede. Suede is animal hide. Alcantara is an engineered microfiber. Saying Luriax cases are suede is factually wrong and it also removes the entire point of the product, which is that suede could not do this job. "The hand of suede, engineered to outlast it" is accurate and free to use.

Designed in Los Angeles, not made in Los Angeles. Design, material specification and the finish standard are set in Los Angeles. The material is Italian. We do not claim domestic manufacture and would rather be described accurately than flatteringly.

On sustainability. Alcantara S.p.A. has held carbon neutral certification from TUV SUD since 2009, covering its own production. That is Alcantara's achievement and belongs to Alcantara. Luriax does not claim it as its own. If you reference it, attribute it to the material's producer.
